over heated on the beach

I changed the thermostat and it seems fine the truck must have been running hot since day one at a little undef half as normal now it hovers just under 1/4 the way up but i havent tested it on the beach yet i will let you kbow as soon as i find out

What temp thermostat did you put in? If it's at 1/2 on the gauge you have a 195* t-stat. If it sits at 1/4 on the gauge then you have a 180* t-stat.

Sorry to second guess you here AZ.
But when my truck had its 195 Thermo it sat at 1/4 of the gauge. Then when I put my 180 in there about a month 1/2 ago it now sits just above the line usually.


Edit: Just to mention I do have a 93 318 Auto

It sits right on the 1/4 line when driving on the road i just got off the beach and all was good on the way on the beach we hung out fir a while and then left and on the way back it got hot again as soon as i turned the defroster on hot and started driving it shot right back to normal next step is to find a shop that does coolant flushes i guess
