dakota no spark/start
I know there are other threads on this but i would like my own. I have 91 v6, just put new plugs, wires, distro cap, rotor, pickup coil, ignition coil. Ive had problems with my fuel pumps connector and have that fixed now but am not getting power to it so i tried running a wire from the batt to it and it still wont start i have been tracing the DG/BK wire from the fuel pump through and everything is ok for that wire cluster/circuit. It still will not start and i am not getting spark, dont wanna go and have to buy new relay so ive swapped the auto shutdown, ignition, and clutfh ones in every combination possible and checked alll the fuses and they are good and i am still not getting spark. I forgot to mention that it spins over but no start. When the fuel pump is hooked to the batt it pumps fuel up through but again no start i have even tried dumping a little bit of gas in the TB and still no start. I am at a loss of where to go from here.
Sounds like you may not be getting power to your computer. There is the notorious splices, it typically is on the 92-96 years but it is still possible. Check the FAQ for a great write up. Next I would say check your ignition input and power and ground inputs into the PCM. We have a wiring diagram in the FAQ.
The ground side of the ASD trigger is controlled by the Computer, if it's not doing the one or two second startup fuel pressure pulse the ECM needs a closer look

It certainly won't hurt anything to polish up the body grounds, especially the one that comes out of the harness right next to the ECM.
I found the 1990 wiring diagram in the FAQ very helpful chasing gremlins.
I'd be tempted at this point to check that the collection of blue wires coming out of the 'Z1' splice are hot when the key is in 'run', one of them provides the 'key on' signal for the ECM and without it the 'brain' is dead as a dodo
