well i was at a swap meet yesterday and i found a newer dakota steering wheel with cruise control for $10.

sadly my truck doesnt have cruise control but i like the newer style and plan to eventually swap over the whole interior(or atleast the dash).

since i had all the tools already and i didnt change over the clock spring. so it only took me 10mins to swap them out(and yes the newer ones do fit)

eventually i plan to combine the wiring and the new clock spring so i can use the horn because the old style that my truck had was a brass ring on the back side of the wheel and it wont work on the new wheel.

 

Looks much better. Ya I bet you can just wire up the clock spring to work.

 

just have to be careful of the air bag. for those wanting to swap out to the newer steering wheel the airbag has a separate connector for it that plugs into the airbag assembly itself so the 2 wires in coming out of the steering wheel are for the horn button.

i also think it looks better with the dodge symbol there instead of the chrysler pentagon.
