If your having stalling problems.. Look -->
okay so on my 95 dakota v6 ive been having a rough idle and stalling issues for months now.. i just now looked on another forum and found out the the pcv valve and the hose connected can have an effect.. guess what.. it fixed it. the pcv was shot, and the the hose connecting it to the intake was dryrotted and cracked. people dont usually check but pcv valves are only 1.99 at your local o'reily store.. and a vaccuum hose, well thats a little different depending on what kind you want. just wanted to throw this out there. and make sure you clamp the vaccuum hose too.
I've bought three pcv valves in a row. 2 from oreilly's and 1 from autozone and they all make this annoying buzzing sound at times. Is this something worth getting from the dealer to get a quality pcv valve?
yes and no, mine makes a buzzing sound too but i mean only when the hood is up and me listening to it.. its running alot better too so if i have to deal with i have to deal with it ya know. all pcv valves when you shake them have that bead that shakes, thats what makes all the noise when its running
I had the stalling issue about year and a half ago. After replacing several parts in hopes of fixing it with no luck, I was running in 4x4 during a snow storm and blew the seal out of the front diff (resulting in a nice little fire when the gear oil spewed onto the manifold). Turns out the vacuum switch on my transfer case was bad. After replacing that it hasn't stalled out since. Just thought I'd throw that out there for anybody that isn't resolving this issue with any of the usual fixes.
