Is there a way to make all the lights on the clusters come on at once to check for bad bulbs? When I turn my ignition on before I start the truck I only get an oil light and check engine, that's it. Keeping in mind I have the old style cluster but I've seen other cars where every light turned on it looked like a pinball machine lol:

 

oil and seatbelt light should come on for sure, cant remember if the coolant light comes on for a second or not. I'm not aware of any key sequence to make all the lights come on to check for burnt bulbs tho

 

Seat belt light does not come on, then again I did remove that module that buzzes. The brake light works when I use my parking brake and it does not come on with the key either.

 

On my 95 5.2 when you first turn the key on all the lights in dash light up for just a second. Someone before me had took black fingernail polish and painted over the clear lens for the check engine light. I had to remove the whole dash to get the little bezel out and used fingernail polish remover to take off the black paint. Now all my lights light up when I first key the truck on. Im guessing the check engine light was on before the guy I bought the truck from got the truck. I bought a large pack of the little bulbs for the dash before I removed the dash and replaced all the bulbs that were either burnt out or broke. Keep in mind that mine is a 95 5.2 but im wanting to say that even on the 88 when you turn the key on all lights should light up if the bulbs are ok. It may not be true but I was thinking all cars dash lights come on when you turn the key so you can check for any bad bulbs.
