Default Lock up Torque Converter problem?

I have a 93 Dakota and a 95 Dakota, both are 3.9L Auto trans 2wd. The OD is working on both trucks and shifts at about the same rpm. On the 95 at about 50mph the rpm drops slightly like the Torque converter is locking up and the rpm doesn't change much with slight fluctuations in throttle position. On the 93 the rpm drop does not occur and the slight fluctuations in throttle position cause a much larger rpm change. It is as if the 95 has a lock up TC and the 93 either doesn't have it or it is not working properly. The 95 is heavier with a cap on the bed and gets ~13mpg around town and the 93 only has a bed liner and gets ~12mpg around town. How can I be sure if the 93 has a lock up TC?

I would say call Dodge with your vin and they should be able to tell you if the truck originally came with a lockup TC.

Yes they both would have the TCC. It could be just needs adjustment on the TV cable. Have you check your fluid level?

Is that call the dealer, or is there a special number to call the corporation for the build sheet info?

Yes, I have checked the fluid level. It is full.

93 and 95 are both hydraulic control transmissions, NOT electronic control. They are both OBD1. OBD2 came out on the Dakotas in 1996.

No, I have no fault codes on either truck. Just code 55 - "End of code output".

I haven't had a chance to get under the trucks to check on how many wires to each transmission.
