Default Only High Beams work on 96 Dakota

Hey Guys, new to this thread and hoping for some advice, high beams are the only thing that work on my truck and that is only if I'm holding the dimmer switch on the turning signal arm, It wont stay on high. I replaced both bulbs and checked the 50a fuse under the hood , I suspect its the dimmer switch but needed some advice before spending the 75.00 bucks. Any help would be great!

if you mean that only the brights work by holding the highbeam switch back, then its most likely that your headlight switch has burned up. Common problem because they didn't use a relay to take the amp load off of the switch. Same exact thing happened on mine, had to replace the headlight switch and wire lead that went to the headlights because it got hot and melted to the switch. pretty simple fix if you know what you're doing.
