Default code 27

'94 dakota 5.2 v8MPFI auto...I consistantly had a code 27 on my number 5 injector, I replaced the injector. No check engine light for a week but now I get the same code but inconsistantly with no pattern I can determine. I suspect its got something to do with a loose connection for a bad wire somewhere. Any suggestions of where stuff commonly goes bad on these wiring harnesses? Or other things to check out? Thanks

It is possible it is a bad power splice that powers the injector. Or a bad PCM.

Possible, I've looked at the wiring harness and nothing looks in terrible shape. Where is the pcm located? I've only had this truck for like 3months and still learning where everything is at. The wierdest thing about the check engine light is that it will never come on in the morning but after work at 5pm it will come on about 85% of the time

The PCM is located on the passenger side front fender. Check the coolant temp sensor for the pcm. There should be 2 sensors next to the thermostat housing, 1 will only have 1 wire and its for the temp gauge inside truck, the other sensor should have 2 wires and it is the one that tells the pcm how to run until the truck warms up and then the O2 sensor tells pcm how to run the truck.
