Which shocks are you tryin to replace front or back? Im takin that you are replacin the front ones. Well to do that you have to get a wrench and a pair of pliers perferably vice grips so that you can lock it down. Just take the vice grips (or pliers) and clamp on the flat part on top of the shock and take the wrench and loosen the bolt while turnin the vice grips (or pliers) in the opposite direction. From the way my 94 looks it looks like you can just take vice grips and clamp down on it and then loosin it with a wrench until the grips hit the control arm and that will act as leverage. The also make a special tool to go over the top of the flat spot on the shocks makes it easier to handle but vice grips or pliers would do the samething. So i hope this helps ya, if it doesnt just let me know whats going on and ill help ya.

I just replaced my shocks on my 91 dakota. I used a Dremel and zipped the bolts off. It only took me about 45 mins to replace all 4 shocks.
