I got a white 96 regular cab dakota. right now it sits stock on 17 inch mako ultra wheels. I was wondering if it would look good with a 2 in body lift and 2 inch coil spacers so i could run bigger tires on it.

If so what size tires you think?

Yes it would look better to me. To me most stock 2wd Dakotas look like they have been lowered. I just just to lift it to give it the non-lowered look.

For good opinions from others it might help to post up pictures.

If you have the money for it definatly go for it and post pics when you're done. I've been wanting to do this to my 93 2wd which sits stock right now. Could afford to do the body lift and put spacers on the coil springs. Can't afford tires right now though or i would have done this already lol.

Personally I think 2wd trucks lifted are ugly lol but that's my opinion. Post up pics when your done!! It's always a plus to doing stuff your self!

@crazy - your FAQ2 says that a body lift will work. but then I have been reading others people's questions on lifting and you say several times that it will not work for 2wd so I just double checking, it will work I just need to weld in a 1 inch spacer in the steering shaft?

Yes correct the body lift will work on 2wd. I've done it. Yes just weld in a spacer, I believe it was a 1in spacer.
