Rob the Vacuum line goes to ur front Axle n ingages the shift fork for the front axle.. that tcase would work but you would have to get a new front diff aswell 92-97.. where do you live I can possibly trade u tcases mines outta a 92.

I have a couple of 97 front axles I'm not using. I'd sell you one cheap. They really aren't very big or very heavy, either, so shipping shouldn't be that bad.

Actually I think I lied I think its 96... The last year of the first gens.. I have a 93 front diff if u need one its 3:55 gear ratio.. so ud have to kno what ratio is in ur truck.. 3.5 , 3.9 idk the other ratios.. but I think you may beable to get a kit to elimante the shift fork or to keep it ingaged.. maybe able to make something up to keep it locked aswell not sure cause I sas mine the day I got my 92 frame.. also keep in mined if u went that route you would have to redo all ur vacuum lines to 93-96 vacuum sramatics to eliminate the tcase n front diff vacuum hoses

Rob, I lied again! I have some good news as long as its not to late! I just did the complete opposite of what ur goal is.. I put a 92 vacuum crap tcase into a none vacuum Dakota! They both have switches ones vacuum for front diff other is 4x4 engaged light on floor by shifter both are engaged by the SAME mechanical gear from the 4x4 shifter.. Simply swap the two the vacuum thing to that sensor that won't be used for ur truck.. I'm truly sorry if I opened up my big mouth to soon!! Hope u see this I'm time! Happy New Year!

sheared the output shaft right out of the transfer case

Were these hoses go to the tcase simply unscrew n replace to new tcase!
