Default 1993 Dakota 5.2 V8 Auto T-Case upgrade to 1994

Just bought my first Dodge Dakota 1993 4x4 AUTO 170K. Bad news is T-Case is out.

I wanted to know what's involved in swapping a 1993 Dodge Dakota V8 5.2 Auto T-case with a 1994 with the same specs. I was told by a friend I will need to swap out the rear-end as well but he told I better get a second opinion on that. I can get the 1994/1995 parts easily locally but I can't seem to find a 1993. Just trying to see what my options are before spending a crap load to order one in/rebuild.

Or if you have a working used 1993 Dodge Dakota V8 5.2 T-case close to Denver, CO or if you can give a smoking deal on shipping one I'd hear out on that

Glad I found the forum!

If all you NEED to do is the transfer-case then all you NEED is the TC. You don't need the axle or anything else. You can use a TC from 92-97? NP231 Ram/Dakota just double check the front input/output spline you'll probably need input 23/output 27. Just need to add in your CAD switch to the new TC and your speed sensor and cable drive (easy!).

Default More info please!

So I don't need any additional parts for the conversion - that's great

Is there a walkthrough or any info on documents on doing the 3 items you listed?

Is the 1993 Dodge 1500 a straight swap? (or any other / model / years) ?
