Default 88 tcase in a 93

As the title states I am looking to swap an 88 dakota v6 4x4 transfer case into my 93 dakota with a 5.2. I was looking. The 88 has 4 vacuum lines on the tcase where my 93 has 1 cable. Other than that everything looks the same
Even if the case itself will not work, would the internals such as the chains and gears work.

The switch is removable, just swap over the switches. Next double check the splines on the output shaft. Make sure it is the same as your truck, most likely 27 spline.

Don't mean to be a pest, would you be able to explain to me what has to be done to swap switches? Does the tcase have to be opened up or just unbolt and remove switch. Thanks.

There you go. If you get under the truck and look at the switch you would get your answer.

Yea I went and crawled under my truck in the nice -30 Saskatchewan weather haha. wasn't as bad as it sounds..... anyways I looked and saw that electric switch just threads into one whole. the same as the vacuum switch, only electric.... I know the switch turns on the "4x4" light. But what other function does it have? Does the switch also operate the front axle disconnect?

Your front axle is locked up all the time, there is no disconnect so it just operates the light.

I'm in western manitoba and we are getting the same cold spell, - 32c, - 43 with the wind this morning, I do not feel like crawling under my truck at all lol.
