1994 dodge tranny problems

i have a 1994 dodge dakota with an a500 v6 transmission and a 5.2l v8 motor and it takes off in 2nd gear instead of 1st what could be the problem?

that thread is about a 46RE but it is fairly similar to a RH, probably something sticking or blocked.

its not leaking any fluid could it be the speed control sensor?

The vehicle speed sensor should have nothing to do with it starting out in second gear. Does the truck shift normally in the other gears? If you shift into 1 on the gear indicator and drive what does it do?

it shifts normal in other gears and 1st gear on the gear indicator dosent move when i give it gas, and the transmission was just rebuilt before i bought it.
