Default Transmission/ OD Issues 92 V8

I have a 92 Dakota v8 with 130k on it. The truck has been great until the past few months a few issues have came up and at this point even changed. The only things i have done at this point is check basic fues/wires and took the battery off to reset the shift points.

First thing that started happening was random downshifting/up-shifting when traveling at a constant speed/ throttle and flat ground. Mostly occured at highway speeds and sometimes around 40-50 in the city also. Often times it would shift in and out of OD numerious times in a few seconds(like a ping pong in and out). After a week of this going on the issues just stopped and I was just left without OD at all. Now shifting is fine but the truck has not shifted into OD since. Today on the way to work I noticed it seamed to be trying to downshift at 3+k rpm/ 65 mph(no OD still). Shifts are smooth as butter even when shifting in and out quickly, so I am assuming its a electrical issue? I have been researching around the forums but there seams to be quite a few things that could cause this( PCM, TPS, Wiring, Speed Sensor?) was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I will be checking the basics this weekend but have yet to even see a CEL since the issue started. Also plan to check connections and wires to make sure that is not the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The most common issue is the speed sensor on the transmission on 2wd or transfer-case 4wd. Are you getting any Check Engine Light codes?
