You sure about that? My TJ was a 5-lug and my Dakota is a 6-lug.

Depends on the year. Older dakotas are 5 lug don't forget, and no wrangler has 6 lug stock.

Yes, TJ stock wheels are 5x4.5 the same as XJs, ZJs, WJs, MJs, Dakotas, Ford Explorers, Mercury Mountaineers, ect. Your 97 Dakota isn't 1st gen.

Right, stock 1st gen Dakotas are 5x4.5. Newer Wranglers are 5x5.5 and that didn't come stock til after they got rid of the TJ and went to the JK Wrangler in 06. Stock Wrangler wheels from 87-05 are 5x4.5.

You're only half correct. Starting in 91 Dakota switched to 6 bolt hubs so the Ops 94 will have 6 bolt hubs. TJ rims won't work for him.

My bad, thought the 6 lug didn't happen til 2nd gen. Well scratch that idea then. The only 6 lug they have are Toyota and I don't think the spacing is the same.

That's why I originally bought my spacers/adapters, so I could run 6-lug Toyota/Chevy wheels.

Toyota, Chevy, Nissan, Ford all have 6 lug variations, but the Dakota and the newer ('10+) Nissans are the only ones that run a 6x4.5. Everyone else runs a 6x5.5.
