Default Transmission swap

I will be doing a transmission swap on my 93 5.2 4x4 and I'm wondering what my options are. The nv3500 is a nice bolt-in replacement, but the 300 ft-lb limit makes me nervous. Then the nv4500 which needs a moderate amount of custom work which is not what I'm looking for. is there anything else for a 4x4? thanks

The NV3500 can take way more than that. There is one member with a turbo 5.2 and his nv3500 is just fine.

It would be good to change the PCM to a manual version, but not 100% needed. Just with the auto PCM with the manual it will be putting out automatic transmission codes. But unlike OBDII it does not affect the performance of the engine. It just will be annoying with that light on all the time.
