Default Tape Deck wont disengage until heated

Problem:My tape deck has a hard time disengaging to run the radio on colder days and I sit there pressing the eject button at normal intervals trying to get it to 'eject' nothing.

Does anyone know if it would be worth my time to pull it out open it up and put some machine oil around some of the gears after checking and clearing out blockages or just deal with it until I feel the need to upgrade to a disk player?

Also how hard might this be if plausible?

For a cheap easy fix I would go get one from a wrecker.

I've got an extra one you can have if you want to come pick it up in Ohio.

@cd: I was thinking about it but then again something else "might be damaged aswell and I may be in the same hole.

@Dakota: I would love to head east on my own for a day but thats about a 400 mile hike for me and with the prices of gas It would cheaper just to go buy a shelf model CD player and cram it in. That and I work nights. But thanks for the offer!

I appreciate it. I just need to find a female harness adapter so I dont have to cut off any wires off the main harness if I feel the need to swap back. Personally I like the old feel of a tape deck in an older vehicle, it just feels right! But alas I would also like to upgrade it here and there aswell >.>

Most auto parts stores should carry the wiring harness adapter. Or check online or on ebay.
