Default No power to coil, help!

Hey guys, I just recently bought a 1992 dodge Dakota 4X4 V6(3.9). I looked at truck and researched problems(most solutions came from this website). After lurking as a guest for a few days I decided to join. Now the problem is that I am not getting any spark. From what the guy I bought it from said, was that it was running fine, one day would start up and then die after about 2 minutes. now it wont even start at all, cranks over just fine but will not run.

Things I've tried and tested already.
Replaced both cam position sensor, and crank position sensor.
New cap/rotor/wires/plugs
Replaced ASD Relay
Checked for faulty notorious dodge splices in wiring harness.

Now after doing all this I tested the fuse box with the ASD relay out of the box. I am getting power to 30(common) at all times checks out good, I am getting power to the 2 sides 85 and 86 I think? with the key on start position and no power with ignition off. and am getting absolutely no power at any time, even when cranking the motor on the top one 87? I pulled the fuse box out to look and found it to be the dark green/orange stripe wire. I have been tracing this wire to all splices I can find and haven't found any to be bad. I went ahead and re-did the splices to make sure, cutting the wire back a few inches and making them nice and secure. I found 3 separate splices starting from near the fuse box location to just past the distributer. Is there any closer to the computer or in the mess of wires going to the fuel injectors?

I haven't even begun to look to see if I am getting fuel yet, I am hoping that once we locate and fix this ASD I will have fuel. Please help, I am new to chrystler(always been a chevy guy, don't hate me) Thanks in advance!

Terminals 85 and 86 on the ASD relay go to the coil. One of them needs to be grounded when the relay is "on". If you have power to both, then there isn't a ground and the relay won't energize (as evidenced by the lack of battery voltage at the NO terminal, #87).

Make a fused jumper between 30 and 87 and see if it starts.

Alright, so I made a fusible link and, and she fired right up. I think it was sitting a little longer than the guy I bought it from said, cause it stinks of old gas. Very happy though, idles smooth, no smoke, tranny and brakes feel good.

One more question, will this affect anything by running it with a fusible link there? Everything is secured and weatherproofed, just not sure if "bypassing" the asd relay will harm something.

Thanks again, you saved me a ton of time/frustration!!

For future reference, I bought this truck from am older guy who was going to pass it down to his daughter. Found out last night I believe this whole problem was started from an upgraded stereo. Was going to take wife and kid for a ride (wife apparently cannot ride in a vehicle without music). Truck started right up, right before we started to take off my wife turned on stereo and it died.

Thought it was just a fluke.. started truck today no problems, turned on stereo and it died again. Pulled dash apart to get at stereo and found it to be a horrible job splicing and installing the stereo. Looked like my 5 yr old daughter did the installation.

Yeah, only paid $700 for it, I'm in it about another $100 with parts so far. Not to shabby for a little work and head scratching lol. I'm happy though, already thinking of upgrades to do. Can't wait
