Default '91 won't start

as many of you know i'm in the process of restoring my '91 dakota. well yesterday i tried to get her to start but she just cranks and cranks and cranks but no turning over and no fire.
a couple things though..

i had the distributor out to fix one the clamps for the cap and i i tried to out it back the way it came out. i guess its possible that i put the distributor back on just out of adjustment?

can a missing o2 sensor be the problem?

It differently could be a miss-adjusted distributor.
