To MSD or not to MSD?
So I was reading an old post on the Dakota FAQ that mentioned MSD ignition boxes actually lowering HP and torque on OBD1 318's...
For fun I unplugged my MSD and noticed... nothing.
Then I thought the dyno results from back in the day were inaccurate because they were tested the same way I did... which doesn't allow for 100 miles to let the computer adjust itself.
Does this make any sense? I'm sure someone has the definitive answer to this one. I guess the only way to do it is do two dyno runs 100 miles apart and hope no other variables (ambient temperature, fuel quality, dyno accuracy, etc etc etc) creep in.
Thoughts?

The MSD should not increase or lower HP/TQ when added to a stock ignition that is working properly. They are just good to have for the multiple sparks, adjustable rev limiter, and dependability (as compared to say a points ign.)
+1 to that!
