Default Truck won't push passed 3200 rpms.

Hi just had a random question. It's late so sorry for any errors.

I have never been able to get my truck over 3200 rpms before it shifts.
This doesn't affect the way it runs or anything and I don't think it's a sensor or injector because everything else runs as it should and getting around the factory estimated mpgs of 16 (depending on how mad I am lol...). I have noticed some play in the throttle cable where it's attached to the peddle. No idea if this makes it to where I cannot succeed wot. I can move the peddle up about an inch from it's at rest state.

I have the 3.9l auto and the 8.25 rear end.

Thanks for any imput. Would like some more get up and go when needed.

Also I think I might have a vacuum leak from the trans? sometimes I need to shift into reverse for it to be able to engage drive and when it engages reverse when cold I hear a pssh noise like a blow off valve sounds like its right under the driver seat where the linkage would be. This only seems to happen when the truck sits over night. If I do infact have a vacuum leak can this affect my original question.

So if you floor it you still won't be able to get above 3,200rpms? Right? It is possible the TV cable needs adjusting, the FAQ has a write up on it. There is no vacuum lines to the transmission. But a vacuum leak could cause idle problems.

yeah you got it. Also I looked under the truck today there is a cable going into the trans not 100% on it but i'd say it's the cable that goes to the speedo telling the mph and keeps the odometer working. It has a tear in it and seems like a little bit of oil comes out. Not even enough to drip or anything but you can rub your finger on it and a little bit of oil will come off. I have pulled the cable out of the back of the speedo and put in 3 in 1 oil as advised by a friend because my speedo started to shake and squeak between 25-40 mph guessing if the cable with the tear in it would be the same thing that would be why it started. Still curious to where this hissing noise is coming from when shifting into gear when the truck is cold. I know I don't have an engine vacuum leak as I've been through all that within the past 5 months.

Will look into the faq on the tv cable thank you once again crazy. You're the man
