windshield wiper arm removel

Default windshield wiper arm removel

who can hive me some hints or directions on how to remove my windshield wiper arms? i need to take them off to paint

they just pull off..........might take some wiggling but they are on a splined shaft. need to pull the locking clip out about a 1/4 inch, may need a screwdriver to pry them to slide out of the lock position.

they should wiggle out after this. if they are really stuck and you're gonna paint them anyway then take a channel lock(name?) and wiggle and tug to remove. i had to do this with mine but it can gouge the metal arms so i would recommend it as a last resort

kahanabob is right. Pull the tabs out, and they just lift off. Definitely tape them up to keep paint from getting into the splines.
