AC Clutch Removal-Grinding noise

Well, there is a pretty loud grinding noise coming from the AC pulley. So I am trying to remove the pulley so I can either replace the bearing/pulley or get a new one.
The problem? I can't get past removing the clutch plate. I did remove the nut that holds the plate, but the plate itself just doesn't want to come out.
Any pointers on how to remove the clutch plate?
The manual seems to show that after removing the hex nut, the plate just slides out...it doesn't.
Thanks in advance for the help.
PS: In the meantime, I am thinking about getting a smaller belt and bypass the ac pulley, just so I can drive it to work. Should work right?

I think I found the info that I need. The manufacturer of the compressor is Sanden. So I went to their website and they actually have a manual on how to remove the Clutch plate, and bearing and how to service the compressor ( http://www.sanden.com/originals/imag...uide_Rev.2.pdf)
Now I need to go and see if Autozone has a puller with the right screws, otherwise I can probably make my own.
This is the tool I used to remove the nut holding the Clutch plate:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...-Tool/_/N-263f
And this is the kit I rented to pull the clutch plate. Use the holder with the arbor and the remover that comes with the kit.

I got the ac pulley off. This is the tool that I used, and by the way, this work is performed while the compressor is in the vehicle.

And here is the video for the Sanden compressor.

I went to the local yard and found the whole clutch assembly, coil, pulley with bearing and clutch. It is up and running. I got the clutch assembly from a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, same clutch style. ( $12 total)
It is definitely a do it yourself job, just need to rent the right tools: a clutch plate holder, a clutch puller, and a pulley puller. And your basic wrenches and sockets.
This is done while the compressor is on the vehicle, just remove the serpentine belt.
All the tools I rented from Autozone did the job, I posted links to those tools as well.
