Default AX15 Trans

I have an AX15 Trans and looking to go from a 2.5 to a 5.2, I also learned today that the AX15 trans was used in the 2nd Gen Dakota's also so where do I find the clutch kit that will work or would it best to order that through Chrysler directly?

You would need a bellhousing, flywheel, clutch kit etc for a 92-99 Dakota with a 3.9. The bolt pattern, balancing etc stayed the same when they ran the 5.2 through the bandsaw to make the 3.9.

On the other hand- I just managed to nuke an AX-15 behind a stock 3.9 in my '99 and the Jeep guys sometimes blow them up behind stock 4.0's. I know people bolt them to 5.2's and 5.9's, I've considered it, but a better choice would be an NV3500 from a V8 Dakota. Make sure it has the correct speedometer drive for your truck. Look in the FAQ-2 and do some Google searching for more info, good luck.

Thanks for the info bud.. My uncle is looking at a donor truck right now for me so I would take everything I would need and I'm making a new dash gauge cluster with all new gauges cause my stock ones are starting to act funny and good amount of dash lights are burnt out..
