Bucket seats/stalling problem
Just a quick question, I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota standard cab. Will a bucket seat and center console work/bolt into my truck? The seat/center console is out of a 1997 Dodge dakota standard cab. Also any ideas on a engine problem. My 1993 has a 5.2 in it. Every now and then the motor just dies like you turn the key off. I just had the fuel pump/pressure regulator replaced along with a new ignition cap and rotor.
Well I still have the problem. I replaced the map sensor, put a different iac in along with the above parts. After I replaced the iac, the truck was fine for almost two weeks. Now the problem has come back. It is just funny, the last time it died, I was driving at 35 mph in town and the engine just died. I turned off the ignition and coasted and turned into a driveway, came to a stop and waited a few seconds and the truck started right up. My son thinks its the crank sensor??? I'm just glad my wife doesn't drive my truck. Time to go back to Ford???
If the sliders on the bucket seats won't fit the floor pan you can swap em over to your stock sliders. snagged bucket seats from a 2001 dakota which the track to mount to the sliders from my stock seats was 2 inchs too wide to what the new seats were. so I took some scrap 1/4" plate steel and cut 2" wide strips and cut em to length had to use rubber blocks to raise the strips to make sure the handle would clear. Took about 3 hrs total making sure my messurements were correct so they would mount square. The rubber blocks I used also made the seats sit higher and made it feel more truck like compaired to the lazy boy 60/40 seats. I can post pics if you'd like. Hope this helps!
Edit: with the center console you can get it to where you want to sit and drill it to the floor with self tappers.

A squirt of WD40 after drying it off will fix any moisture problem.

Not sure if the mounts are the same in yours as on my 1990 but if they are then 95+ Cherokee and 93-04 Grand Cherokee seats are almost a direct swap and the GC seats are very comfortable. The outter two mounts bolt directly where the bench seat does but you'd have to weld or have someone weld in a couple studs for the inner two mounts. Did 96 Cherokee seats in mine for a while when I had a 12" sub I wanted to run, had it between the seats for a while. You do lose about an inch of headroom through.
