Default Voltage Regulator

Hi fellas I've got a question I had to install external voltage regulator cause the one in the ecm went bad, I've got a 1991 Dodge Dakota....my issue is I have seen the videos on how to do this my problem is the 12 volt ignition source right now I have it running straight to the battery and of course when I forget to unplug the regulator it drains the battery, I don't have any way to check for this wire does someone know the specific wire that I need to hook up to so this isn't directly connected to my battery?

just thinking. get out the VOM. check to see if the RUN connector on the ignition switch is NOT hot when the switch is any place but RUN. that may get what you want. good luck.

He saying get a multimeter or volt gauge. Find a swirched ignition wire.
