Why do factory radios blow?
How is it that of all the 1990's Chrysler vehicles I've owned(quite a few), they've all blown radios? Some only one, some more than others... Of the 6 I have right now they are all shot! I don't like the look of aftermarket in my dash but I'm getting sick of sourcing and replacing these units!
Am I the only one? What causes this!?
Btw, I've had everything from base no cassette to infinity gold cd/cassette, and everything in between, in the end they all had SOMETHING go wrong.

maybe back in the day they sucked but more recent like my 2009 Nitro with touch screen nav... sub ect.. it kicked **** ... for a factory system... it was nice since the door speakers, dash and sub were all kicker made....
my 2008 G6 has a monsoon system it lacks deep bass but still kicks well
buddies F150 raptor ... sony system, 800 watt sub/amp it was nice
my Dakota.... with windows down cant hear it ! LOL
ive owned so many dodge vehicles and never fried original stereo so idk...
usually they burnt to the ground first :O HAHAHAHA

Think about the environment that they have to endure. Heat (hottest spot in the interior of the car, btw) in the summer, cold in the winter, shock and vibration daily, being operated at full volume when the windows are down. It's a wonder they last at all.
Plus the contracts for them are farmed out to the lowest bidder.
