Idle issues
Hi I am new here and I recently purchased a 1991 Dakota Le 5.2 4x4 extended cab that was special ordered with 8.25 axles with 3.92 gears and 77,000 orig. miles
My problem is that out of the blue it started running like it was misfiring (or like I have racing cam when I do not} on the exhaust end it spits and sputters during idle and will randomly idle at 1000 rpm, 750rpm, 500rpm, and sometimes the tach will fail to read it it is idling so low at red lights. If I decelerate quickly like 50 - 0 it is sure to stall unless I press the gas some if it dies starts right back up. under acceleration it drives fine no noticeable issues except it feels way under powered for having such low miles on it and I only get about 8mpg.
All I have done to it was change the map sensor, the throttle position sensor, new cap and wires. The spark plus look perfect, I have added new Borla 2.5" dual exhaust as well.
I have heard it could be my IAC valve but my truck does not have one. My temp gauge does not work and no check engine light, when I pull codes I get something about the engine running too cold, I ordered the Engine temp sensor and mine apparently only has the sending unit so I have to return it and order that now.
Can anyone give me some insight on this?
and Is it possible that my ECM gets its signal from my single sending unit and then sends info to the gauge?
