In my quest to find the answer to my Tranny question I discovered this date code calculator.
and thought it might be of use to others.

it tells me the date of MFG for my tranny was Monday Oct 20 1986.
I also discovered that Part number PK4329628
PK= Made in Kokomo, Indiana
4329628= Part number. 87-89Dakota,4×4,6cyl.,A998.
