Disconnect Battery
Having a problem with our '92 Dak running the battery down overnight. Living up in Canada where we are it is just to damn cold to do anything about it right now. Question is, Can we disconnect the battery every night or will that screw something up (like the computer)? Thanks
It will just reset the pcm every night. Shouldn't mess it up I guess it's a good way to go till it gets warmer and you can track down the problem. A quick search on this site however might bring some light to your issue I've seen a few post about it in the past.
one thing to do is check the AMP draw with every thing off. then start disconnecting things one at a time. if that doesnt do it, leave the bat on over nite BUT put a charger on, not a great solution but it might get you by for a while.
Interstate Battery tested mine and let me know it was the battery. I happened to have left the inside light on to run it down. I suppose whatever battery store you have near you should be able to tell you if it is the alternator which is in the PCM on mine or something else is causing the draw. They did it for free and I ended up buying elsewhere as their prices were exorbitant.
