Question What RPM should a 1991 Automatic 3.9 shift at at full throttle??

I just put a Tachometer on my 1991 Dakota 3.9l Automatic LA block engine. I want a tach in it so I can watch what the engine is doing. I noticed that under FULL Throttle the engine is shifting at 4,000rpm. The engine sounds like its wound out pretty good but the tach is only showing 4k rpm when it shifts. Is this the right shift points under full throttle for my truck? Seems low. ? Thanks
