I found a 89 Dakota long bed regular cab 4x4 auto for $500.00 Body is beat up at places and said trans and motor was rebuilt before he got it over a yr ago. The head gasket is bad and said he had it looked at and motor is fine needs head gasket and oil change. Heads etc is fine.I talked to a friend/mechanic and said heads etc about $1200.00. I have a 88 full size truck with a 3.9 manual and 2wd. How hard is it to change motors? My trucks trans is shot and if i can come out better i may get this truck. thanks

 

It's a direct swap if the full size is a ram.

 

Yeah the swap should be fairly easy considering their both Dakotas, if you have a buddy you could prolly do it in a day or two.

 

Sorry I misread your ad you have a ram and Dakota but yes it's fairly easy.
