hi im trying to buy a ball joint socket for my 94 dodge dakota what size is the socket i need

 

2 and 9/64ths according to manual ..

 

I just removed the upper ball joints on my '96 2wd Dakota last week. You were told correctly, 2 9/64's. I bought my socket from Summit for $17 and change and it was to me in a couple of days. Considering what some places are charging for them that seemed to be a good deal and worth the wait. It took a solid 3/4" breaker bar, a heavy 4 1'2 foot cheater bar, a soak in PB Blaster and a little bit of grunt, but they broke loose with no problem. If you haven't knocked them out already, give them a good PB Blaster soak the night before and maybe another shot 10-15 minutes before hand and let'er rip! Good luck!
