Question 95 dakota auto two wheel drive idle and speedometer fluctuations.

My 95 Dakota V6 has been idling low and rough for years. If I "goose" it while in drive it will die. Sometimes it dies at a stop light, or when turning around in a parking lot. It was driving fine at speeds over 5 mph until recently. Now sometimes it sputters at any speed, even at 70 mph or more. While it's sputtering the transmission seems to fluctuate, and the speedometer goes nuts, bouncing around wildly. I imagine it has multiple problems, and they are probably all "sensor" related. I'm almost seventy years old, and have never had anything newer than a 76 Lincoln, so I know nothing about problems with "EFI" and electronic speedometers.
Any suggestions where I should start to fix some of this stuff?
I need you kids to help me out. Thanks in advance.
