Default Supercharger on 1993 5.2l?

Hey guys,
I found a Powerdyne Supercharger kit for sale on craigslist the other day, and would like to know if anyone has used it with my model year, or similar. The model number is BD-11a with a serial number of Pd07042. It has all the necessary hardware, and looks to be never installed. The add claims to fit 1996-2003 Ram 1500/dakotas with 318 or 360ci. Is there any difference between first ten 318ci and second gens? Are these supercharger kits California smog legal? Any info is appreciated.

No there is no difference of the physical motor. The only difference is the wiring and computer system and possibly different electronics to match the updated wiring and computer system.

If you can afford it, get it. You will need to get your PCM programed to match the supercharger and probably upgrade your fuel pump or pressure regulator. See the FAQ2 for a company to program the PCM.

^Thanks for the reply. After looking into it a bit, I definitely cannot afford it with tuition due in a few weeks. I am pretty sure it won't pass smog here in california anyway…. Maybe if I hit the lotto… haha
