I read in a shop manual about my dakotas 4x4 and my 4x4 isnt sending power to the front wheels and i seen where it had a diagram of a thing called a shifter motor if there is such a thing like this on my truck could that be my problem and where exactly is the shifter motor located on the diffirental?

 

No, it's a live front axle, no CAD. The only thing that controls power to the front wheels is the transfercase.
