Off-key drain help please
1992 Dodge Dakota V6 Sport 4x2 MT 5 Speed
I am not having much luck locating a parasitic drain on my battery and have run out of ideas. Please help. I have been working on this for 6 months.
After the truck sits a 2-3 days the battery runs down and has to be put back on the trickle charger.
The battery is new.
I pulled all the fuses and relays (one at a time) in the PDC and under the drivers dash.
The alternator is properly charging but I disconnected the alternator to check for bad diode.
The only thing I can find that is "on" is the fuel gauge is still energized with the ignition key out.
Would this cause a drain? is this due to a bad ground?
Where else or what else can I check?
Thanks for any help.
