Default 1989 Dakota Sport Fog lamps

Just wondering if anyone knows where to get replacements for the fog lamps in the front bumper valance on an 89 dakota sport.

I can't imagine the originals are available anymore...are there aftermarket ones that will work ?

Problem is I was trying to change the bulb in one and the reflector housing basically crumbled in my hand.

You used to be able to find those rectangular fog lamps everywhere; not so much anymore I guess. Have you tried J C Whitney, and the usual suspects (Amazon, ebay, etc.)?

Also, take a look at these GROTE 63531's. They measure roughly 6.5 inches by 3.5 inches and I think they look similar to the originals, though I'm not sure what size the opening is in the '89 valance. I found them here:

You can still get the lights.
They were commonly used on european cars at the time.
"Bosch Pilot 150"

The bracket was specific to the Dakota though, so you would need to make/modify one or use your old ones if they are in good shape.

Here's a thread with info. Post#7 contains what I found at the time and photos of the bracket differences.

2nd last post has info about some that had the clear lens bezel pieces.
