Default headlights shut off while driving.

My 1994 dodge Dakota headlights will shut off after driving for around 10 to 15 minutes using high beams. They will stay on for around 30 to 45 minutes using only low beams does anyone know what would be causing this? The truck is a 1994 Dakota slt with a 3.9 liter v6 engine

Sounds like the circuit breaker on the headlamp switch is dying.

You should verify current draw to make sure, but I'd be considering a new headlamp switch - RockAuto has them for between $12 and $15 as I type this.

You would get it at your preferred parts vendor (RockAuto, Advance, Princess, AutoZone, O'Reilly's, NAPA, Pep Boys, whatever) and ... why not ask them? Since they'll be selling it.
