Not butting in, but is the PCM inside a metal cover with a ground strap going to chassis ground?

Lightbulb Z12

"I believe this is my PCM ground pin 11 & 12 circuit z12 termination point; G108 (though this is from a 94/95 manual and my truck is 92)."

The closest good ground point should suffice. '95 Ram also says Z12, but its ground point is on the other side of the engine.

The PCM is not inside a metal cover, it's just a plastic box on the side of the fender in the engine bay.

After looking at the truck again I definitely do not see the grounds like the illustration I posted. They must go a bit further.

I am very close to buying a PCM from RockAuto that's why I mentioned the transmission control solenoid because it's always listed as the most common thing to short and cause ECM failure; http://my.cardone.com/techdocs/PT%2077-0005.pdf

I'm so paranoid about hurting a "new" $220+ computer I want to test/fix anything else it could be. I wasn't saying the trans. control solenoid could be directly causing my stall, more wondering if over time it has killed my PCM.

Years ago when truck was realiable I noticed it had trouble getting into high gear on the freeway when it was cold. I could tell it wouldn't shift into high gear because my RPM's were high for 50 mph and it would finally eventually shift up and the RPMs would drop and smooth to a cruise. But perhaps it was just being cold?

After I told my friend the ignition circuit voltage seemed normal during a no start condition stall he said "check continuity to ground" in a text.

Also found these 2 articles with what seem to be identical PCM issues; (the first one is also a v8 4x4)
