Default 3.9L V6

I have a 92 dakota 2wd with a 3.9 L V6 multi-port fuel injection. Has anyone ever put a 1990 3.9L V6 throttle body engine in a 92? If so does the muti-port system bolt on to the 1990 block? Are there any other changes required?
Thanks for any replies.

I'm currently in the process of switching a carburated 3.9 with a TBI 3.9. There were a number of things that I had to look at and switch. You would want to check your full pressures, a TBI requires about 14 psi, I"m not sure what a MPI would require. I also know that the MPI has hydrulic lifters and runs off a surpintine belt and your TBI has numerous belts. I imagine you would probably have to change wiriing as well since you will have more injectors on your truck. I'm pretty sure that the blocks would be the same. I know for a fact that they don't change from 87 to 91 but I"m not sure about anything after that.

The 92 multi port injected motors run on 35 psi from the factory, but you can run more. I dont think the 92 system works on the because the pre 92 motors are hydraulic roller motors and the heds are different.
