Default timing belt

my fathers 90 dakota witha 4 cyl engine that i think is 2.4 has been neglcted it has about 200,000 miles on it and i don't know if the timing belt has been changed is this difficult? i would rather change it now when it is warm out than in the middle of winter when they usually go out. i've changed a few on the older caravans and these look like the same motor.is this an interferance motor will i break things if the belt comes looseand should i chage the waterpump as well?icon_tinykitball:

It is a non-interference engine. I would change the water pump just to be on the safe side with that many miles. Can't comment on the complexity of the timinig belt change, someone more knowledgable will chime in.
