Smile Torque Converter Solenoid Replacement

I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota two wheel drive 3.9 Litre V-6 and I recently replaced the transmission with a used one. After I changed it out, I found out the new one came out of a 91 Dakota, so I had to order a 91 drive shaft to fit it. Then I found out I had to have a universal joint which fit the 91 drive shaft and 94 rearend. After I got everything all connected and drove it, the truck drove fine down the road but tries to go dead at stop signs and traffic lights. I think it needs a torque converter solenoid and I would like to know if the solenoid is on the inside or outside of the transmission? I really appreciate any professional advice I can get, thanks!
