Default 1989 Dakota transmission pan substitutes?

1989 Dodge Dakota Base Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door 3.9L 3906CC 239Cu. In. V6 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated.

My transmission pan is leaking, but I can't find the location. I've installed both the paper and rubber gaskets and I even applied RTV to seal the leak to no avail. My neighbor, a retired Mechanic for the Post Office says that I need to replace the pan. I have no problem replacing the pan, but I can't find it ANYWHERE, new or used. I've found deeper versions of the pan that were sent to me by mistake and returned because neither would clear the cross pipe from the exhaust. I even attempted to contact Chrysler and they claim that my VIN number does not come up in their system. That's a totally different frustration.

I can not seem to find this pan. None of the local places sell it. None of the online places I've tried sell it. I've tried Ebay, local salvage yards, salvage yards in other cities and I'm at the end of my rope.

Is there a common transmission pan from another vehicle that I can add to my search? I'm findiing it kinda weird that this simple pan has eluded me to this point. Any insight offered would be greatly appreciated.

Moderator, please delete this thread. I found the solution I was looking for. A post over at dodgedakota.net helped me to identify my transmission and I was able to order the pan from factorychryslerparts.com.

I'm not a mechanic, so I needed to be educated first and that little bit of direction made all the difference. Thanks in advance for deleting this!
