Default 1991 V6 auto shift point issue

A few days ago I had my factory front u-joint come apart at about 40mph, caused a hell of a racket, lots's of vibration, had to get it towed home. I fixed it the same night. Since then my truck has had an issue going from 2nd to 3rd, it slips a bit into 3rd sometimes, has been up shifting way earlier then before, and when I put it to the floor it won't down shift into 2ns. I've had to put it in 2nd manually a few times going up hills because it won't downshift. Is there a possibility that the shock from when the u-joint went could cause this issue? All the gears are fine other wise no slipping. I know there's a rod from the throttle to the tranny that can be adjusted, but I just dropped this tranny in this summer, and had adjusted it then. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

On the flip side of things I've noticed my power transfer has felt a lot better since the replacement.

Not being a tranny guy my first impression is that your TV cable and or bands are out of adjustment.

Do you think all the vibration from the u joint going out could of caused it? the truck ran fine before that point. I made sure the fluid was good and everything.

I was just suggesting what I would look at if I tried to diagnose it myself. I really have no experience with trannies which is why I got ripped off on mine getting rebuilt.

Finally got the chance to get underneath my truck (been working a lot of over time and it gets dark pretty early in PA during the winter), found out the kick down rod from the throttle to the tranny popped off, I'm assuming from the shock of that u joint blowing apart. Popped in right back in place and it's running as good as ever.
