Default 89 dakota fuel system

Hey, i recently bought an 89 dakota and the fuel system is in some major need. the whole bs assembly that goes in the tank is clogged and or dead, could i just put a module in from a 91 or would i have to swap the tank? and of so would a 91 tank fit easily?

Is the 91 throttle body injected, or multi port fuel injected?

Plus, you CAN just replace the pump motor on the 89's assembly, without replacing all of it.

How to is laid out well in the factory service manual.

Suggestion if you do: Buy some methanol-rated rubber hoses for immersion (both the inner and the outer jackets are rated for immersion in methanol fuels) so that you'll never have to worry about the rubber hoses failing; clean and verify the fuel sending unit; and while the bed is off, redo all the rubber around the tank.

I did that on my Dakota (except for the sending unit), and when I went back in for the sending unit, it was in great shape.
