'93 needs rear main seal

Default '93 needs rear main seal

Anyone here done rear main seal on Dakota? My '93 Dakota 3.9 is leaking a bit. Thanks...

I had my mechanic do mine while the engine was out getting new freeze plugs.

Pictures show a 2 piece seal, so it's drop pan, and sneaky-pete at least.

Thanks Ralph! I'm thinking this might be a job for my mechanic too. If anyone else has done this, I'd appreciate hearing how it went.

It's not that bad if you acess to a cherry picker you can pull the engine mount bolts and lift the engine to clear the oil pan from the frame and the bellhousing. Then it just a matter of pulling main bearing cap and push the seal out.
