Question Transmission replacement advice

I'm currently at a month-long feud with my kota. On the way back from Peoria IL, after 400 miles, she started bleeding, bad. I was close enough to home, and assessed that I'd blown a seal somewhere. I bought a used 46RH, knowing it would bolt up to a v6, i'd also need it later for the 360 swap. I got the exhaust off, cut the cooler lines, and dropped the old one. Now the fun begins. Currently I have two jacks in a balancing act, one on the engine pan, and the other under the tranny. I've been trying to get them to kiss for two weeks. The closest I've, gotten; Had one side in, but the other side had an inch distance, then it popped out on me cause the tranny stand rolls like crap. I'm guessing there's someone here who's done this before who can offer some advice? I'm so close to just ripping it out and starting the 360 rebuild.

TL;DR - Can't bolt up new tranny because it's a PITA, advice needed.
Thanks as always
On an unrelated note; Has anyone ran straight transmission hose instead of metal pipe from the tranny to the radiator and vise versa?

For the transmission alignment a few things:

Make sure the alignment pins on the block and the alignment holes on the tranny are absolutely clean...no paint, grease, burrs or anything. Then coat the pins with a little 3 in one oil or other thin lubricant. Next get some studs and screw them into the two top mating holes on the block...this will help align and support the tranny as you push it onto the alignment pins. Lastly triple check that the converter is seated all the way in the tranny....when sliding it onto the shaft there are two sets of splines...make sure you get two thunks as it seats onto both. If the converter isn't seated fully it'll bind up everything.

As for tranny hoses yes you can do that...just make sure they are high pressure hoses...300 psi or better.

So now I have a bigger issue...
Acc. to chrystler this thing is called a torque shaft, #9 on here

It's for a 42RH, but I've got a 46RH, so it doesn't fit. Anyone know where to buy one?

I just had my hands on one yesterday at the junk yard. I was missing the rest of the shifter linkage you see in your diagram, and was removing it from a 9x Dakota. Didn't grab that part because I have a 42RH and it's already on my transmission. Hoping to make the linkage work on my 42RH so we have the opposite problems . In anycase, go to your local junkyard....those things are plentiful if you're willing to crawl in the mud under the truck and get drenched in grease and brake fluid while you take it off. That was my experience yesterday.

With that said, tho, the link you posted says that it's the same part for the 46RH and 42RH. The A500 listed in your link is the same as a 42RH. Are you sure it's not the same? They looked the same visually the one I was working on yesterday and mine.

I tried fitting it on the new transmission, it didn't take the right way. I think it has to do with it coming off a Ram, and the Ram linkage is different. I'll toy with it
