Does the np 2500 and Ax-15 have same bolt pattern ?
I have a line on a 1989 dakota 2.5L engine for sale that i need for my 92 but just discovered the 89's didnt have the ax-15 manual trans like i have in my 92 . I'm worried it may not bolt up to my ax-15. I can't seem to find any info on the bolt patterns for the trans to see if this engine will bolt up to my ax-15. Its a 2.5 so i would assume but i have been wrong once already and it cost me 400 bucks, I cant be wrong again. anyone need a 92 lebaron 2.5L engine with only 79K on it? ...... thanks in advance.
I think you are asking about the bell housing bolting up to the motor direct. IDK. There are adapter plates. I think if I remember correctly you have no motor in it at the moment. If that is the case you can make a pattern with heavy paper or light plywood and check it against the motor you may purchase. Here is an ebay page that came up in my attempts to search that has a lot of AX15 stuff on it. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nk...sing+Ax15+rare Seems like most people are going from an AX5 to the AX15 and they make plates for that purpose. It just occurred to me that in the FAQ page there is a link to get your build sheet from Chrysler. Make sure you include the ID numbers off your Tranny as well as the VIN. They will answer questions once they respond with it. You might be able to find out from them if the 89 will accept the 92 AX15 tranny.

Thanks for the info, I emailed them this morning. I wonder how long it will take for them to get back with me. Yes I do mean the bellhousing, I cant imagine the block would be different but like I said earlier, Ive been wrong before.
